Objective: The Renaissance era is a period when its developments encompassed all aspects of society, including military affairs, which led to the creation of the of pike and shot era, which it's direct results have continued on western armies and even the world to this day. The purpose of the present research is to examine the doctrine of the military force of Western Europe in three branches of infantry, cavalry and artillery during the two hundred years in question, along with its evolution.
Methodology: This research is of a fundamental type and its research method is content analysis and historical analysis, the data of which was obtained through library activity, in such a way that different parts of the system were examined using first-class sources and various researches To obtain knowledge of military doctrine & it's developments.
Findings/results: The direct model of the Renaissance military doctrine was the ancient Greco-Roman military structure. The developments started from focusing on the cavalry, and when creating a line of fire was possible, it was transferred to the infantry, as a result, the peasant millitia gave way to professional mercenaries and then the national army, whose number was constantly increasing. These developments were made possible by the growth of technology that made the production of firearms easy and cheap. As a result, the centrality of military innovations was transferred from the west to the center of Europe, the peak of which was Gustavian military revolution.
