Objective: This study explores the emerging role of advanced language models within the framework of cognitive warfare and analyzes their sociocultural and intellectual effects on Islamic civilization. The research seeks to understand how language technologies influence perception, belief formation, and civilizational identity in the modern digital era.
Methodology: Using a qualitative research approach, the study employs content analysis of credible academic sources and conducts in-depth interviews with scholars specializing in Islamic sciences and technological ethics. This combination ensures a comprehensive understanding of both technical and ideological dimensions.
Findings: The findings reveal that language models have become effective instruments of cognitive warfare, utilized in targeted content production, distortion of religious terminology, and surveillance of public discourse across digital platforms. Moreover, the Islamic world faces considerable challenges, including dependency on foreign technologies, insufficiency in developing indigenous models, and exposure to cultural and religious vulnerabilities amplified by algorithmic influence.
Conclusion: The study proposes strategic responses such as developing Islamic language models grounded in indigenous epistemology, implementing intelligent systems for content analysis and monitoring, fostering specialized media literacy among scholars and citizens, and establishing transnational institutions for ethical oversight. Ultimately, the research argues that a fundamental transformation in the Islamic world’s approach to language technologies is essential to convert current threats into drivers of civilizational growth and renewal.
