Objective: The developments of recent years in the West Asian region, war in Syria, caused more opportunities for Russia's activism ,presence in the region ,on the international stage, Russia tried to use this opporbjectitunity to enter its superpower and be unique in field.. In this regard, Russia conducted its largest military exercise in history named "Vostok" with the participation of China and Mongolia in the East of this country. The purpose of research is to analyze the dimensions and objectives of the Russian exercise in 2018 based on the military Doctrine.
Method: it is applied and descriptive and qualitative approach, which was done by tools such as interviews, documents , content analysis with a retrospective approach.
Findings: Russia is considered to be the most important military rival of the America, it conducted this exercise with the aim of showing strength to its old rival, America, the readiness of the Russian army to deal with foreign threats and defend the country's interests.
Conclusion: Russia is seeking to regain its former power in the world and increasing activism, it is seeking to increase its defense power, the military doctrine of this country is moving from a defensive and deterrent nature to offensive nature with a gentle slope, preparation exercise the military training of hundreds of thousands of military forces and the strengthening of strategic alliances with our neighbors and partners is indicative of the formation of a multipolar system in the world and a response to NATO threats on Russia's borders
