objective: The purpose of the current   research is to find a suitable place for the construction of military barracks, considering the aspects of military safety and defense. 
Methodology: This research was conducted in the southwestern part of the country in Khuzestan province.
   First, 15 criteria were identified with the opinion of experts and review of various sources, and standard maps were prepared, Then the maps were weighted using AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method.
Findings: The results of weighting of the criteria indicated that the distance to the village with a weight of 0.163 and the distance to the city with a weight of 0.142 and the fault with a weight of 0.119 are the three criteria with the highest score and priority and then the criteria of height (0.0193), slope (0.0188) and direction (0.0163) have the lowest weight. After weighting and standardizing the layers, the weight and value given to each layer was multiplied and the results were added together.
Originality: The research results showed, 16,733 square kilometers, equivalent to 26.14 percent of the area with a very good score, 35,365 square kilometers (55.27 percent) of a suitable floor and 11,900 square kilometers (18.59 percent) of the total area have an unfavorable situation for the construction of military sites.
